The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) pays grants to local farmers and landowners to maintain redundant agricultural buildings that would otherwise fall into decay. This ancient stone barn was re-roofed in an environmentally sensitive way with green oak trusses and natural slates, enabling it to maintain its place among the local building stock.
