Neil and Jane Turner, directors of Bovey Construction, the award-winning construction firm in Ashburton, are running in the London Marathon on 22 April. Always ready for a challenge, the pair are looking for donations to a charity close to the heart of Devonians, the Seafarers UK. Their target is £2,400, and time is now running short for the pair, who have just completed their last long run before 22 April.

“In my twenties I sailed for fun and even passed my yachtmaster exams,” said Neil. “The challenge of sailing the Atlantic was one of my all-time great experiences. But it pales into insignificance compared with the grit and determination shown by professional sailors, some of whom are now in great financial need. By sponsoring us on our first marathon, readers can support Seafarers UK, who provide much-needed funding for the maritime community – from cadets to service veterans and fishermen.”
